A friend found a video on Youtube of an old, long-defunct match-3 game they remembered fondly called Super Nisqually, and lamented that they were unable to find any way to play it today.

I boasted that I could probably rebuild it from scratch in an afternoon, using the video and their rose-colored recollections as my only references. It ended up taking the afternoon and the evening to get a working build, plus a couple hours over the next couple days to fix a few bugs and improve quality-of-life a bit.

It's not perfect, but its intended audience of one was very excited to see it, and that's all I really set out to accomplish. I'll share it here in the off chance that anybody else would be interested.

Thanks to the magic of love.js, the game is fully playable right here in the browser. I'm still figuring out how to distribute native binaries of LÖVE games for various platforms, but if you're impatient you can just download the yerriqually.love file below, which is all you need to run it natively on most platforms as long as you have the free LÖVE runtime installed.

I take no credit for the game design, artwork, or music, but the code is 100% original.

Enjoy!
